Fairchild Award Winners
Join me in congratulating our students and teachers on their Fairchild achievements. I am beyond proud of our students and the teachers who have guided and supported them throughout this process. Ms. Martinez, thank you for your dedication in teaching our students to do their part to take care of our world. The Pine Rock Garden is a wonderful addition to our school grounds. I see how much time you and the students have put into creating and maintaining the garden. Thank you. Go Makos! Fairchild Challenge awards was this Saturday. We did AMAZING as a school. Special thanks to Ms. Deresz and Ms. Ervin that joined me for the middle school awards. Special thanks to Mr. Wood and Ms. Soto that joined me representing MAST Academy for the high school awards. We received Silver Award for BOTH middle school and high school and received a frame and $750 for each the middle and the high school! To obtain Silver we had to do very well in each of the competitions. Therefore, thanks to the teachers mentioned above. Plus, thanks also to Ms. Peters that did the high school debates and Mr. Lacayo with the high school art entry. We received 1st place on two categories: Our New Pine Rockland and 1st place also went to Mr. Lacayo's student, Gabriella Lopez, for Miami, My Garden High School |
MDCPS High School Geography Bee
MAST Academy competed with two teams in this years MDCPS's High School Geography Bee. Our two teams won 2nd and 3rd place this year. The students who competed for MAST are Nicholas Peralta, Charles Turner, Sophia Bugarim, Chase Dubovy, Ilan Spector, Alexander Kravitz, Adrian Aguero, Daniel Belov-Khata, Daniel Clavijo, and Valerio Cai. Fairchild Challenge Growing Beyond Earth Team!
Please join me in congratulating our Fairchild Challenge Growing Beyond Earth Team! Our school's teams did an outstanding job presenting to NASA this weekend. Extra special shoutout to our senior Mercedes Halliburton who presented the research findings for the two four-week experiments along with her senior teammates Isabella Magro, Daniel Fernandez, and Fernando Figueroa. Our Makos did an excellent job and left a positive impression on the three NASA scientists. Also, congratulations to their sponsors Ms. Deresz and Ms. Ann Martinez! |
