We are excited to announce that Miami Dade County Public Schools is launching a new safety awareness campaign called "Heads Up, Phones Down" in our middle and high schools. Our goal is to ensure that students have the safest and most efficient transitions between classes. To help achieve this, we are encouraging students to refrain from using their phones and earbuds during passing periods or class transitions. Students will notice posters around the school reminding them to put their "Phones Down, and Heads Up!" We kindly ask for your support by discussing this new safety measure with your children in grades 6 through 12. We believe that this initiative will not only help students move more safely between classrooms but also promote face-to-face interactions with their peers.
