Quill and Scroll is an international honor society for student journalists. It was organized April 10, 1926, at the University of Iowa by renowned pollster George H. Gallup and a group of high school advisers for the purpose of encouraging and recognizing individual student achievement in journalism and academics. Students may be staffers for the Beacon, Mako Fuka, Spilt Milk or enrolled in Media Production. Sophomores through seniors are eligible, and you must have proven excellence as a journalist or writer. Students must have completed one year as a student journalist and be currently enrolled in a journalism class. Students who write for out-of-school publications may also be eligible for membership, but you will need to submit samples of your work to be considered.
