2024-2025 Transportation
Students who live more than two miles from the school may be provided transportation. Some students will travel to/from MAST by direct bus; others by a combination bus, Metrorail, and shuttle (to/from the Vizcaya Station)
The Department of Transportation has enhanced their homepage to include https://dot.dadeschools.net tool for parents/students to verify their access to transportation services. These enhancements will determine eligibility for schools bus services by verifying transportation boundaries and student distance. The functionality of these three applications below do not require parents to be logged onto the parent portal.
• TRANSPORTATION ASSIGNMENTS - CHECK YOUR STUDENT/PARENT PORTAL
MAST students and parents with questions about your M-DCPS transportation assignment should first check your M-DCPS parent/student portal or app. Click the orange box for Personal Information and then click the top right tab for Bus Info to see your assigned service. You will need metro pass service assigned before the school can request to load funds on a K-12 Discount Fare Easy Card (metro pass) for you.
• APPLICABLE TRANSPORTATION IS BASED ON THE ADDRESS ON FILE
Your correct official address of residence must be on file in the Student Information System before submitting transportation requests. To update your official address of record, school staff is required to verify proof of residence. Acceptable documents include a deed, lease, or rental agreement PLUS a current FPL/or water statement.
• METRO CARDS
New incoming students 6-10th with newly assigned K-12 cards will receive them on campus after the school year begins. Students, record your name in permanent marker on the back of your card. Keep record of the 20-digit card number (take a photo with your phone). Store it securely in a wallet or lanyard case. If lost, stolen, or damaged, replacements can be purchased at Government Center or the Overtown Transit Village for $2.00 with proof of MAST enrollment. Make sure to purchase the K-12 Discount Fare card (it will say this on the back in green) and not the regular full-fare card (which is white on the back). Replacements must be activated (used at least once) before School Board funds can be loaded. Email a photo of the back of your replacement card to tkralievits@dadeschools.net. Only the student may use the card and only for rides between school and home on schooldays. The card can be used for Metro Rail and for Metro Bus, including transfers.
VERY IMPORTANT: The beginning of each month, students MUST TAP TO ACTIVATE their funds for the month at any Metrorail Station KIOSK
