Ms. Lucia Portuondo

Hello, my name is Lucia Portuondo and I will be your child's art teacher. The M/J Two Dimensional Studio Art class is comprised of a comprehensive visual arts curriculum employing traditional and unconventional art methods and techniques. Your child will be introduced to a variety of art styles and art periods. They will be using many different mediums in exciting new ways. My goal is for your child to experience the joy and wonder of creating while they learn to express themselves through the arts. By the end of this school year your child will be able to distinguish between the major genres of art, identify and describe the elements of art and principles of design, make clear connections between art and other areas of study, and gain a better understanding of how art has influenced and recorded culture through time.
